8-6. Battery Charge LED Indicators

Battery charge LED indicators function only
when the Generator−Weld/Battery Charge
switch is in the 12V or 24V position.

Status LED5 (Green)
For three seconds after the switch is placed
in the 12V or 24V position, the status LEDs
display the relative voltage of the battery.
One or more LEDs will be lit and not flash-
ing, beginning with LED1 and moving to the
right.
As the battery charges, the next LED to the
right will flash, then stay lit. When all status
LEDs are lit, the charge is complete.

Never remove battery cable clamps
during a charge or jump start/crank
assist cycle. Output to the cable
clamps is always there when the bat-
tery charge indicator LED is flash-
ing.
When a jump-start/crank assist load is ap-
plied, the LEDs will turn off from right to left.
For crank assist loads that require more
than 150A and last longer than 5 seconds,
the output will turn off for twice the time that
the load was on. For example a 10 second
load results in a 20 second off time.
During a high-current time out (crank assist
loads that last longer than 20 seconds), on-
ly LED1 is lit and not flashing.
6
Over Voltage LED6 (Yellow)
When lit and not flashing, LED6 indicates
an over voltage condition.

Description
Number of LEDs lit at start-up is determined by voltage
of battery connected.
Charging progress indicated by LEDs lighting from left
to right.
A transition from right to left indicates a load has been
applied.
High Current Time Out
Charge Complete/Full Charge
No Output
Over Voltage
Reverse Polarity
24V mode only. Low battery voltage. LEDs flash until
voltage stabilizes.

7
Reverse Polarity LED7 (Yellow)
When lit and not flashing, LED7 indicates a
reverse polarity condition. LED7 remains lit
until correct polarity is detected, or until
switch is set to Gen-Weld. There is a
three-second delay between detection of
proper polarity and beginning of battery
charge.
LED1, LED6, and LED7 flashing indicates
low battery voltage when in 24V charge
mode. Verify correct battery voltage is se-
lected and check battery condition.
When any green LED is flashing, the unit
has output to the battery.
To reset after correcting fault condition,
place Generator−Weld/Battery Charge
switch in Gen−Weld position and then
choose proper voltage for charging.
