1. Instructions for use and installation
The 694 gas regulator unit was designed for
domestic use to power appliances being used
at the pressure and power level indicated on
the identification plate (1).
The 694 gas regulator unit is installed on gas
cylinders fitted with manual closing taps (2),
having a male threaded outlet pipe fitting (7)
according to the dimensions indicated in table
A.
The cylinder must always be used in an upright
position.
If the 694 gas regulator unit is used outdoors, it
must be protected from the rain.
Never use a flame to look for gas leaks: use
soapy water.
If difficulties arise, turn off the gas supply and
contact your local dealer.
If a gas leak ignites before the tap is closed (2),
use a damp cloth to close the tap.
2. Fitting the connection to the appliance to be
used
Before connecting the 694 adjustment unit to
the cylinder tap, connect it to the appliance to
be used.
3. Fitting onto gas cylinder
Check that:
all the taps on the appliance being used are
closed.
the connection pipe on the appliance being
used is fitted correctly.
If there are no flames, remove the protecting cap
on the tap.
After checking that the washer is there and in good
condition (4), screw on the nut (3) rotating it in
the direction of the arrow (5). Tighten the nut just
enough to ensure watertight integrity which can
be checked using soapy water.
4. Operation of the system
Once the 694 gas regulator has been correctly
fitted to the tap, the gas supply can be turned
on by rotating the handwheel in the direction
indicated on valve. (6).
Rotate in opposite direction to shut off the gas
supply.
5. Replacing the gas cylinder
Check that:
all the taps on the appliance being used are in
the closed position.
the tap on the gas cylinder is closed.
At this point, dismantle the 694 gas regulator by
unscrewing the nut (3).

USER INSTRUCTIONS
Before proceeding, make certain that you understand
the WARNING statements in this manual.
Preparation before cooking – To prevent foods
from sticking to the cooking grill, please use a long
handled brush to apply a light coat of cooking or
vegetable oil before each barbecuing session.
Note: When cooking with your barbecue for the
first time, the paint on the outside of the barbecue
may change colour slightly as a result of high
temperatures. This is normal and should be
expected.
Lighting the barbecue
Open the barbecue hood (2).
Ensure all knobs are in the 'OFF' position (7).

Unscrew ignition button (8) and insert AA battery,
positive end facing outwards. Screw ignition button
(8) back into place. Open the barbecue hood (2)
and turn on gas supply at gas cylinder.
Turn burner control knob (7) to position
HI
Press and hold ignition button (8) to ignite the
burner flames. If ignition does not occur in 5
seconds, turn burner control knob (7) to OFF , wait
5 minutes, and repeat the lighting procedure.
In windy conditions, shield from wind to ensure
easy lighting.
Once ignition has occurred, turn control knob (7) to
lower or raise heat as required.
After ignition, the burners should be burned at
the high position for 3-5 minutes in order to eheat
the barbecue. This process should be done before
every cooking session. IMPORTANT - The hood
should be open during preheating.
After completion of preheating, turn burners to
low position and cook with the hood in the down
position for best cooking results.
