STORAGE
Before storing the snow thrower for an extended period:
1. Be sure the storage area is free of excessive humidity and dust.
2. Drain the fuel.
Petrol is extremely flammable and explosive under certain
conditions. Do not smoke or allow flames or sparks in the area.
Do not drain the fuel tank when the exhaust system is hot.
a. Turn the fuel valve lever to the ON position.
b. Loosen the carburetor drain
knob, and drain the petrol into
a suitable container. After
draining, retighten the drain
knob and turn the fuel valve
lever to the OFF position.
3. Clean the fuel sediment
cup.

position, remove,
empty, and clean the
fuel sediment cup. Do
not remove the
O-ring. Confirm the
O-ring is properly
positioned and in good condition. Contact your authorized
Honda dealer if the O-ring needs replacement.
b. Reinstall the cup and tighten securely.
TORQUE: 3.9 N•m
4. Remove the spark plug and pour 5 cc of clean motor oil into the
cylinder. Pull the starter rope slowly two or three times to
distribute the oil.
Reinstall the spark plug.
5. Pull the starter grip until resistance is felt. This closes the valves
and protects the engine from internal corrosion.

6. Battery service
If the snow thrower will be stored for an extended period, remove
the battery and store in a cool, dry place. If the battery will remain
in the snow thrower during storage, disconnect the negative
terminal from the battery. Recharge it every 6 months or if the
voltage is less than 12.7V. Recharge every year before operation
and before storage.
Battery Removal
1. Remove the battery cover (see

3. Remove the negative (–) cable from the battery first, and then
remove the positive (+) cable from the battery.

Battery Charging
A battery charger which is commercially available for 12 V batteries
can be used to charge the battery.
The battery is rated at 11.0 Ah (10hr). Charging current should equal
10% of the battery's ampere-hour rating. A battery charger should be
used that can be adjusted to deliver 1.1 amps.
1. Connect the battery charger following the manufacturer's
instructions.
2. Charge the battery 5-10 hours.
The battery is completely sealed and does not require additional
maintenance such as adding water.
Battery Installation
1. Install the battery in its original position.
2. Connect the battery positive (+) cable to the battery positive (+)
terminal first, and tighten the bolt securely.
3. Slide the battery boot over the positive (+) cable and terminal.
4. Connect the battery negative (–) cable to the battery negative (–)
terminal, and tighten the bolt securely.
5. Install the battery strap and the battery cover (see

This symbol on the battery means that this product must
not be treated as household waste.
NOTE: An improperly disposed of battery can be harmful to the
environment and human health.
