EDGE EHS-1 Attention This device shall be used only for the purposes it is designed for. This device is designed to be used as a wireless microphone system. Any incorrect use may lead to hazardous situations and result in injuries and material damage.
Description of the Device The EDGE EHS-1 is a wireless handheld system. The set consists of a handheld transmitter and a receiver. The EDGE is suitable for voice transmission. The transmitter is powered by 2 x AA LR6 (alkaline) batteries (not included).

EDGE EHS-1 Installation and Setup Ambient Conditions ● The device can be used only indoors. ● The maximum ambient temperature t = 50 °C must never be exceeded. ● The relative humidity must not exceed 50 % with an ambient temperature of 50 °C.
EDGE EHS-1 Two Receivers Attach the supplied short mounting brackets with the mounting screws to the receivers. Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the mounting screws. EDGE EHS-1 Setup Attention Connect all data cables before supplying power. Disconnect power supply before connecting or disconnecting data cables. To set up the wireless handheld system, follow the steps below: Install the antennas. See 4.3.1. Installation of the Antennas on page 15.
EDGE EHS-1 Connecting to Power Supply Attention Incorrect handling of the AC power adapter may result in hazardous situations This device is delivered with an AC power adapter. Incorrect handling of the AC power adapter may result in hazardous situations.
It is possible to connect multiple receivers and transmitters and to install accessories. See 3.5. Optional Accessories on page 11 for more information. 4 x EDGE EHS-1 In a setup with 4 receivers, you can use a single antenna distributor and 1 set of unidirectional/omnidirectional antennas.
EDGE EHS-1 8 x EDGE EHS-1 In a setup with 8 receivers, you can use 2 antenna distributors and 1 set of unidirectional/omnidirectional antennas. The antennas receive the signal from the transmitter(s) and send it to the antenna distributor. The antenna distributor sends the signal to the other connected antenna distributor.
EDGE EHS-1 Switching ON/OFF – Receiver The receiver has a power button. ● Press and hold down the power button (05) for 2 seconds to switch on the receiver. The LCD display (01) lights up. ● Press and hold down the power button (05) for 2 seconds to switch off the receiver. The receiver remains energized.
EDGE EHS-1 Switching ON/OFF – Transmitter The transmitter has a power button. ● Press and hold down the power button (18) for 3 seconds to switch the transmitter on/off. ● When in the main menu of the transmitter, press the power button (18) to confirm selections and to return to the start screen.
EDGE EHS-1 Operation To operate the device, talk or sing into the transmitter. The AF signal strength (L) indicator on the LCD display (01) increases or decreases during talking/singing. If the signal is too loud, “AF” and “P” of the AF signal strength (L) indicator flash red.
EDGE EHS-1 Main Menu Options Upon start-up, the display shows the DAP logo. After 2 seconds, the display shows the current status of the receiver. Press the control (02) to open the main menu. The display shows: Turn the control (02) to toggle through the following 14 options: ●...
EDGE EHS-1 Group In this menu you can select a group. Each group (A–J) has a unique set of channels with 14 fixed frequencies per channel. See 5.5. Channel and Frequency Overview on page 34. Turn the control (02) to select GROUP.
EDGE EHS-1 Scan In this menu you can automatically scan the entire frequency range, to find the unused frequencies and avoid interference. Turn the control (02) to select SCAN. Press the control (02) to scan the entire frequency range (610–668 MHz). This process may take up to 2 minutes.
EDGE EHS-1 Lock In this menu you can lock the display of the receiver. Turn the control (02) to select LOCK. Press the control (02) to edit. Turn the control (02) to select one of the 2 options: ● ON: The display is locked ●...
EDGE EHS-1 Receiver Gain In this menu you can set the output gain of the receiver. Turn the control (02) to select RX GAIN. Press the control (02) to edit. Turn the control (02) to set the output gain. The adjustment range is from -32 dB to +4 dB.
EDGE EHS-1 Squelch In this menu you can set the squelch threshold. The squelch threshold is pre-set at the factory and normally needs no further adjustment. In case the receiver picks up other signals besides the signal of the transmitter, follow the steps bellow. To eliminate the interference, increase the squelch threshold for the respective channel.
EDGE EHS-1 Color In this menu you can assign a color to the transmitter. It is useful when working with multiple receivers and transmitters. Put a sticker with the correct color on your transmitter. The stickers are supplied with the device.
EDGE EHS-1 Antenna Power Supply In this menu you can set the antenna input/output power supply. Turn the control (02) to select ANT DC. Press the control (02) to edit. Turn the control (02) to select ON or OFF. Press the control (02) to confirm.

EDGE EHS-1 Troubleshooting This troubleshooting guide contains solutions to problems which can be carried out by an ordinary person. The device does not contain user-serviceable parts. Unauthorized modifications to the device will render the warranty void. Such modifications may result in injuries and material damage.
EDGE EHS-1 Maintenance Preventive Maintenance Attention Before use, examine the device visually for any defects. Make sure that: ● All screws used for installing the device or parts of the device are tightly fastened and are not corroded. ● There are no deformations on housings, fixations and installation points.
