NOTE Have the appropriate special tool m to hand:
– aprilia part# 0277730 (flywheel removal hexagonal
bolt) (7).

Screw the special tool (7) into the thread of the flywheel
(8).

CAUTION
Do not heat the hub of the magneto flywheel (8) over
a flame; instead use a suitable jet of warm air.
NOTE
Heat, for five-ten minutes, the hub of the mag-
neto flywheel (8) with a jet of warm air since the cone is
also fastened with LOCTITE

Remove the flywheel with the freewheel flange (9) and
the freewheel (10).
å ü Extract the flywheel ring (11).

Extract the gear of the freewheel (12).
N
Remove the starter idler gear (13) and double gear
(14).
å ü If necessary, unscrew and remove the screw
N
(15) and remove the drive shaft position sensor (16) to-
gether with the sealing ring.
