About Disinfectant-Ready Models

Note: CK65 models for use in hazardous locations are not available with disinfectant-ready
housing.
Some configurations of CK65 computers are available with an external plastic
housing that is designed to resist the effects of harsh chemicals. These scanners
are equipped with disinfectant-ready (DR) housings for the general-purpose
market.

How to Identify Models with DR Housing

Since 2021, all standard and cold storage CK65 models have been equipped with
disinfectant-ready housing. Previously, a water droplet
computer indicated CK65 models with disinfectant-ready housing.
The first two digits of the serial number indicate the year the computer was
manufactured.

If the serial number of your (non-hazardous-location) computer begins with 21
or higher, it has disinfectant-ready housing.
If the serial number begins with 20 or lower and your computer does not have a
water droplet, it does not have disinfectant-ready housing.
