Printing Problems

If your printer is not printing correctly, refer to the following tables.
Symptoms
The printer does not
print.
A print job is extremely
slow.
Causes
The printer is not receiving power.
The printer is not selected as the default
printer.
Check the printer for the following:
• The front cover is not closed. Close the front cover.
• Paper is jammed. Clear the paper jam. Refer to
• No paper is loaded. Load paper.
• The toner or drum cartridge is not installed. Install the toner or drum cartridge.
If a system error occurs, contact your service representative.
The connection cable between the
computer and the printer is not
connected properly.
The connection cable between the
computer and the printer is defective.
The port setting is incorrect.
The printer may be configured
incorrectly.
The print driver may be incorrectly
installed.
The job may be very complex.
Solutions
• Check the power cord connections.
• Check the power switch and the
power source.
Select your printer as your default
printer in Windows.
Paper
Jams.
Disconnect the printer cable and
reconnect it.
If possible, attach the cable to another
computer that is working properly and
print a job. You can also try using a
different printer cable.
Check the Windows printer setting to
make sure that the print job is sent to
the correct port. If the computer has
more than one port, make sure that the
printer is attached to the correct one.
Check the print driver options to ensure
that all of the print settings are correct.
Reinstall the printer software. Refer to
Information
Pages.
Reduce the complexity of the page or
try adjusting the print quality settings.
After 100 consecutive prints the device
print speed will slow down until the
current job completes. The next job will
return to rated speed.
