  • Page 14: Product Description

3 Product description 3.1 Function The TPR 270 and TPR 271 gauges have a Pirani temperature-compensated sensor. This Pirani sensor uses the heat conductivity of gases for vacuum measurement. The gauge heats a thin tungsten or plati- num/rhodium wire in cycles to a specific temperature. The time required for the heat-up process is a measure for the pressure.
