Beamage-M² User Manual
The Spacing options let you choose whether you prefer to have a Specified Distance between
two measurements or a specific number of steps (Specified Steps) in the chosen interval.
The Distance (Lens to Sensor) determines the limits of the carrier's travel and is expressed in
millimetres. A short ��
waist position ��
highly diverging beam being too big for the sensor.
The Start button starts an M² measurement using the parameters from the window.
The OK button saves the current settings without starting a measurement.
The Cancel button ignores the modified values from the fields
Start button
Quick starts an M² measurement using the parameters from the stage settings. The beam slices will be
added to those already recorded without erasing any acquired data.
Stop button
Stops a running M² measurement. The button is only active when the translation stage moves.
When you press the Stop button, the current process stops. If you press the
Start button again, the measurements will start over from the beginning.
Events following a measurement
At the end of a scan, a window pops up. Click the OK button to force the calculation of the beam parameters
based on the acquired data; PC-Beamage switches to M² Results tab and M
value brings the Start Position and the Stop Position closer to the beam

in order to capture a "zoomed" measurement. It prevents problems such as a
