Intended use The JUMO SIRAS P21 AR pressure transmitter (type 403028) is a device for measuring pressure in gas- es and liquids without solids content. The device's integrated software can convert the measured pres- sure value into different pressure units or into a value for a specific fill level, into a measurand defined by the user.

    General information 3 General information The JUMO SIRAS P21 AR is a device for measuring pressure and monitoring minimum, maximum, and range values in gases and liquids without solids content. With activated SIL function, you can use this device in safety-instrumented systems, which have to meet the requirements of the standards series DIN EN 61508:2011, DIN EN 60730, and DIN EN ISO 13849.
  • Page 16 3 General information Functional safety use WARNING! Loss of safety function during parameterization! During parameterization, the safety function does not function. This could result in a dangerous operat- ing situation.  Make sure that the machine that uses the safety signal is in a safe operating state during parame- terization of the device.

If you insert a screwdriver or other objects into the opening, you could irreparably damage the membrane.  Never insert objects into the hole of the pressure connection! If you damage the housing or the membrane, you must send the device to JUMO to be repaired.

    Mounting 6 Mounting Before mounting WARNING! Risk of injury resulting from pressurized media! If you open the pressurized system, you could be injured by components that are slung away or by the escaping medium.  Before starting with the installation, make sure that the system is depressurized. NOTICE! Exceeding the device temperature range can result in operational malfunction! If the device temperature exceeds +85 °C, this can cause the device to malfunction.

    6 Mounting Rotating the LCD (display) The standard installation position of the device is vertically upright. It is possible to install the device in any other installation position. To help make it easier to read the de- vice display, you can rotate the display module by 90° angle increments in the housing. In addition, you can rotate the housing on the sensor.
