Emergency Starting
Running Out of Fuel
(Diesel Engine)
If your vehicle runs out of fuel, add fuel,
pump the priming pump several times,
and try to restart it. Because air can get
into fuel lines when a vehicle runs out of
fuel, your engine may take longer to start.
If the engine doesn't start the first time, try
starting it several more times. If it still
doesn't start, contact an expert repairer, we
recommend an Authorised Ford Repairer.
CAUTION
Don't try starting the engine for more
than 30 seconds at a time. Doing so,
could damage the starter. If the engine
doesn't start on the first try wait about
10 seconds before trying again.
