Plug-In Energy Meter

Safety
• Make sure that the electrical socket that the product is plugged into
is easily accessible in case it and the connected product need to be
quickly disconnected from the mains electricity.
• Do not connect products of this type to each other.
• Do not cover the product.
• The product is intended only for use indoors.
• Devices connected to the electricity meter should be of the same
power rating and specifications.
Product Description
The energy meter measures how much electrical energy an electric
device uses. The energy meter can calculate the total cost of running
a device if the price of each kWh is entered.
The display shows, amongst other things, the voltage, power, energy
consumption, kWh and power factor of the connected device. This
product should be connected to an earthed socket.
Instructions for use
1. Pull out the plastic tab protruding from the battery
compartment. The energy meter will switch on.
2. Connect the energy meter to an earthed wall socket.
3. Press [ SET ] to change the values displayed
on the ENERGY and COST rows at the same
time. Press [ ENERGY ] or [ COST ] to change
the displayed values separately.
Buttons and functions
1. [ SET ] Selects the displayed values, the elapsed
time is always displayed but the ENERGY
and COST can be shown in 5 ways.
2. [ ENERGY ] Changes the value displayed on
the ENERGY row.
3. [ COST ] Changes the value displayed on
the COST row.
4. [ UP ] Changes the values.

Display
a) Shows the time elapsed since
a load device of at least 2 W has
been connected. The time stops
when the device is switched off
or the load is less than 2 W.
- The starting time is 0:00.
- Initially, the first digit represents
minutes, and after 10 minutes
the first two digits will represent
minutes and the two next digits
seconds.
- After 60 minutes, the first digit will represent hours and after 10 hours
two digits will represent hours and two digits minutes.
- After 24 hours the time will start from 0:00 again and a 1 will appear
after 'Number of active days' on the COST row (c).
b) Shows electrical parameters. Press [ ENERGY ] to toggle between:
- Power (W)
- Voltage (V)
- Current (A)
- Frequency (Hz)
- Power factor. The power factor can be used to calculate the reactive
power VA by dividing the active power W by the power factor.
E.g. if the active power is 30 W and the power factor is 0.6,
the reactive power will be 50 VA (30/0.6=50).
c) Shows the cost and consumption. Press [ COST ] to toggle between:
- The total consumption in kWh
- The set electricity price, COST/kWh (the initial electricity price value
is 1.00 COST/kWh)
- Number of active days
- CO
emission (based on 1 kWh generating 0.998 kg CO
2
- Total cost
Setting the electricity price
Can even be set when the energy meter is plugged in.
1. Press [ COST ] for 3 seconds. The first digit will flash.
2. Press [ UP ] to change the value of the first digit and/or [ SET ] to move
to the next digit.

3. Press [ COST ] or wait for 6 seconds to return to display mode.
Changing the batteries
If the energy meter does not save the data in its memory, the batteries
should be changed.

1. Undo the two screws and
remove the battery cover on

the back of the meter.
2. Remove the old LR44 batteries

and insert 2 new ones, making
sure the polarity is correct.
3. Refit the battery cover and
secure it with the screws.
Care and Maintenance
Always remove the energy meter from the wall socket before cleaning it.
Wipe with a soft, lightly moistened cloth. Use only mild cleaning agents,
never solvents or corrosive chemicals.
Responsible disposal
This symbol indicates that this product should not be
disposed of with general household waste. This applies
throughout the entire EU. In order to prevent any harm to
the environment or health hazards caused by incorrect
waste disposal, the product must be handed in for
recycling so that the material can be disposed of in
a responsible manner. When recycling your product, take
it to your local collection facility or contact the place of
purchase. They will ensure that the product is disposed of
in an environmentally sound manner.
