Beskrivning av Åskskydd:
Inbyggt i SLT900 finns ett rejält åskskydd (ej i den Ex godkända versionen
SLT900HE).
Åskskyddet är dimensionerat för att klara åsknedslag i närområdet men
klarar inte en direktträff av en kraftigare blixt. Skyddet är dimensionerat för att
klara kraven för Klass 1 provning enligt IEC61643-1 5
kA (10/350 uS).
Detta skydd räcker normalt till för alla applikationer. I
speciellt utsatta installationer, där det ofta finns risk
för att transmittern eller kablarna drabbas av direkt-
träffar, kan skyddet behöva kompletteras ytterligare.
Åskskyddet är utfört som ett trestegsskydd. Se Fig
2.
Åskpulsen som kommer in i transmittern fångas upp
av ett dubbelt gasurladdningsrör (V1), tre stycken
transientskyddsdioder (D1, D2, D3) och två stycken
varistorer (R1, R2).
FL1, FL2 är genomföringskondensatorer och L1, L2
är drosslar för EMC skydd.

Explosionsskydd, EExia
(Klart Q1 2007)
SLT 900 kan som option tillverkas i egensäkert
utförande, EExia IIC T4, enligt ATEX direktivet av
NEMKO.
Detta utförande kan inte kombineras med inbyggt
åskskydd.

Description of lightning protection
fullfill the demands for Class 1 testing according to
IEC61643-1 5 kA (10/350 uS).
This protection is normally enough in most
applications. In specially exposed applications, where
there is a risk for direct hit on the cables or electronic
housing, the protection might need reinforcement.
The lightning protection is designed as a three step
protection. See Fig 2.
The stroke that enters the transmitter is caught by a
double surge arrester (V1), three transient protection
diods (D1, D2, D3) and two varistors (R1, R2).
FL1, FL2 are feed through capacitors and L1, L2 are
coils for EMC protection.
7 Intrinsic safety, EExia

SLT 900 can as an option be delivered in intrinsic safe
design, EExia IIC T4, according to ATEX by NEMKO.
The transmitter will then have the code SLT900HE
where E indicates "EExia".
This option can not be combined with the lightning
protected option (see above).
