Reassembly
1. Insert a new stationary portion of the mechanical seal into the motor adapter.
• Ensure the bracket socket is clean before installation.
• Lubricate bracket ID (internal diameter) with P-80 lubricant to ease installation.
• Do not contaminate the seal face.
2. Bolt the bracket to the motor.
• Torque to 115 ± 10 in-lbs in a diagonal pattern.
IMPORTANT: Be sure not to damage the stationary part of the mechanical seal.
3. Install the rotating portion of the mechanical seal onto the shaft sleeve so that the rotating ring sits
against the stationary ceramic seal face.
• Lubricate motor shaft with a minimal amount of P-80 lubricant to ease installation.
• Do not contaminate the seal face.
4. Install the impeller
• Coat the shaft threads with anti-galling com-
pound.
• Secure the shaft with a 7/16-inch open end
wrench.
• Screw the impeller onto the shaft so that it makes
contact with the shaft shoulder.
• Reinstall the cover on the opposite end of the
motor.
5. Ensure the impeller spins freely.
6. Position the impeller wear ring and bolt the diffuser to the bracket.
• Torque the diffuser bolts to 10-15 in-lbs.
7. Slide the diaphragm and grommet onto the pump shaft.
• Orient the diaphragm so that the small hole sit in the upper left (if looking towards the motor).
8. Lubricate the O-ring with P-80 and slip onto pump.
9. Reposition the case gasket and bolt the volute to the motor adapter.
• Torque to 185 ± 20 in-lbs in a diagonal pattern.
10. Bolt the case to the base.
• Torque to 185 ± 20 in-lbs in a diagonal pattern.
