The commissioning tests are carried out to prove the following:

The relay is not damaged in transit.
•
The relay is correctly connected and installed.
•
The characteristics of the protection and settings which are based on calculations.
•
Settings are correctly applied.
•
Obtain a set of test results for future reference.
