Joysticks with integral actuator controls
The controller has two modes of operation. One is called the
"Drive Mode". It is used to drive the chair. The second mode
is the "Actuator Control Mode" used to power the Tilt and/or a
secondary power option i.e. PaceSaver Power Stanza.
While in the "Drive Mode", the power wheelchair controls will
function as explained in the basic owners manual for the Scout
power wheelchair purchased.
To switch from "Drive Mode" to the "Actuator Control Mode" the
power chair must be stopped and sitting on a fi rm level surface.
Locate the Mode Button that sits in between the ON/OFF button
and the Horn Button.
Press and release the Mode Button once. You will notice the led
on the Mode Button will show the number "1". You have entered
the Tilt Control Mode or Actuator Control Mode 1. Pull back on
the joystick to tilt backwards. Push forwards on the joystick to
lower the front of the tilt seat.
Pressing the Mode Button again the controler will enter into the
second "Actuator Control Mode", while simultainously highlight-
ing the number "2" on the Mode Button. This will control another
power accessory option ie. PaceSaver's Power Stanza.


NOTE:
If your chair is not equipped with a second power
accessory option, the controller will not enter into the
second Actuator Control Mode.
Once you have fi nished adjusting the powered accessories,
you may leave the "Actuator Control Mode" and return to "Drive
Mode" by pressing and releasing the Mode Button one last time.
The Mode Button will return to its original status of power LED's
being illuminated.
External Controls
Controls that are not activated through the joystick do not require you to toggle
between "drive mode" and "actuator control power mode" on the joystick.

WARNING: Always bring the chair to a complete stop on a fl at
surface before adjusting the tilt angle. Never adjust the power tilt
while in motion.
Locate the black control box with the rocker switch. Press the back of the rocker
switch to tilt backwards and press the front of the rocker switch to lower the tilt.
In Tilt Control Mode, move Joystick
Back & Forth to control Tilt Action.
In Second Actuator Control Mode
use joystick to control action.
