    The BOSS HD Equalizer seating system has optional transport securement anchors intended for use with a six point strap system. Leisure-Lift requires that the rider be transferred from the power chair and secured to automotive type seating while being transported.

    DO NOT use the BOSS Equalizer HD Tilt Seating System if it is not functioning correctly. DO NOT use the BOSS Equalizer HD Tilt Seating System in a manner that it was not designed for. DO NOT attempt to reach objects if you have to move forward in the seat.

    If occupant uses said seating system/wheelchair as a weight training ap- paratus, Leisure-Lift shall NOT be liable for bodily injury and the warranty will be void. WEIGHT LIMITATION Wheelchairs equipped with the BOSS HD Equalizer Power Tilt have the following weight limitation: BOSS 4.5 400lbs.

  • Page 9 BOSS HD Equalizer Til t System Powered Wheelchair Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Because EM energy rapidly becomes more intense as one moves closer to the transmitting antenna (source), the EM fi elds from hand -held radio wave sources (transceivers are of special concern). It is possible to unintentionally bring high levels of EM energy very close to the powered wheelchair's control system while using these devices.

    The Boss HD Equalizer has a center of gravity shifting feature. This feature helps to keep your center of gravity in roughly the same area while you are using your tilt. Which improves the rearward stability when you are tilting back compared to a tilt seat that does not have this feature.
  • Page 11 BOSS HD Equalizer Til t System TRANSFERRING TO/FROM OTHER SEATS WARNING: BEFORE attempting to transfer in or out of the wheelchair, every precaution should be taken to reduce the gap distance. Always have assistance when you are being transferred. Make sure the power is turned off before transferring out of the wheelchair.

  • Page 13 BOSS HD Equalizer Til t System TILT CONTROLS The motion of the BOSS HD EQUALIZER tilt seating system is controlled in one of two ways. INTEGRAL SWITCHES - Some power chairs come equipped with an optional Joystick module that has integral switches built into it.
  • Page 14 BOSS HD Equalizer Til t System  NOTE: The Drive Lockout Switch can be adjusted between 15 to 20 degrees by your equipment provider. Maneuvering the power chair at full speed or encountering bumpy surfaces may cause the Drive Lock- out Switch to be enacted at a lower angle than those listed above.

Checking fastener tightness The following fasteners on the Equalizer HD Tilt are intended to be hand tightened and therefore should be checked periodically and retighten if vibrations have caused them to loosen. a) Black plastic knobs on armrest supports b) The wing nuts used adjust the back angle.

    RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE Daily/Weekly - Check that all buttons/toggles that operate your BOSS Equalizer HD Tilt System functions properly. - Charge the batteries, if reqiured, as described in the Powerbase/Wheelchair Owners Manual. - Clean the tilt system using a damp cloth with a mild soap. Ues a minimal amount of water.

Leisure-Lift, Inc. will provide parts and labor, at our factory, free of charge for problems considered to be covered under our warranty. The cus- tomer is responsible for all freight charges if the Equalizer Tilt System is shipped to the factory.
