Chapter 1. Introduction
This Problem Determination and Service Guide contains information to help you
solve problems that might occur when installing and using your BladeCenter QS20.
It describes the diagnostic tools that come with the BladeCenter QS20, error codes
and suggested actions.
Replaceable components are of three types:
v Tier 1 customer replaceable unit (CRU): Replacement of Tier 1 CRUs is your
v Tier 2 CRU: You may install a Tier 2 CRU yourself or request IBM to install it, at
v Field replaceable unit (FRU): FRUs must be installed only by trained service

Prerequisites
Before you start problem determination or servicing, check that:
v The BladeCenter QS20 is inserted correctly into the BladeCenter
v All components are connected correctly
v The BladeCenter QS20 has the latest firmware update
