B Installation and Preparation

Features

The CTE-A10 Expansion Adaptor is a
unit designed to connect multiple CTE-
600 Communication Transducers
equipped with microphones, and a
speaker.
The unit has the following features.
Connecting multiple CTE-600s
You can use up to four CTE-600s in one
conference room by connecting the same
number of CTE-A10s instead of the
interface boxes supplied with the CTE-
600.
Versatile seating layouts by
cascaded connections
Cascaded connection allows you to
install more CTE-600s to fit the size of
the conference room.
Automatic power on-off function
When one of CTE-600s connected in a
cascaded configuration using the CTE-
A10s is turned on, the remaining CTE-600s
are automatically turned on in concert with
the CTE-600 powered on. Also, when the
system is connected to a Sony video
conference system (PCS series), the CTE-
600s are automatically turned on or off
with the Sony video conference system
(PCS series).

Features/Precautions

Precautions

The CTE-A10 is designed to be connected
to the CTE-600. Refer to "Precautions"
described in the Operating Instructions
supplied with the CTE-600.

Safety

• Operate the unit using only the power
source specified in "Specifications" on
GB
page 16
.
• Be careful not to damage the cord of
the AC power adaptor (supplied with
the CTE-600) by placing or dropping
heavy objects on it; it is dangerous to
use the unit with a damaged AC
adaptor cord.
• To disconnect the cord, pull it out by
the plug. Never pull the cord itself.
• If you do not intend to use the unit for
several days, disconnect the AC power
adaptor.
• Do not disassemble the unit. There is a
danger of electric shock from the
internal parts.
• Be careful not to spill any liquid on the
unit, or to allow solid objects to enter
the cabinet. If used with a foreign
object inside the unit, the unit is liable
to malfunction, or present a risk of fire
or electric shock.
Should any liquid or solid object get
into the cabinet, unplug the unit and
have it checked by your Sony dealer
before operating it further.

Cleaning

Clean the unit with a soft dry cloth, or a
soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild
detergent solution. Do not use any type
of solvent, such as alcohol or benzine,
which may damage the finish.
