Dynamic Fan-Speed Adjustment
The S7700 supports intelligent fan speed adjustment. The system monitors temperature of key
components. When the temperature of a component exceeds the preset value, the system
increases the fan speed. When the temperature of all components falls below the preset value,
the system reduces the fan speed. Intelligent fan speed adjustment ensures stable operation of
the system and reduces power consumption and noises.
By default, the S7700 adjusts the fan speed based on the board temperature. You can configure
the S7700 to adjust the fan speed according to the board temperature and optical module
temperature. When the temperature limit is exceeded, the S7700 increases the fan speed. For
example, when the board temperature decreases, but the optical module temperature increases,
the S7700 increases the fan speed.

The fan module consists of the fan frame, dual fans, and fan control board (FCB).
