S7700 Smart Routing Switch
Hardware Description

3.1 Introduction

This section provides an overview of AC power supplies and DC power supplies on the
S7700.
l Do not install an AC power supply and a DC power supply on the same S7700.
l Ensure that the S7700 is properly grounded before powering it on.
l Power off the S7700 before removing a power supply.
l Do not operate power supplies when the switch is running.
l When powering off the S7700, shut down all the power supplies of the S7700.

3.1.1 Configuration and Operation Modes of Power Supplies

S7712
On the S7712, system power supplies are located in slots PWR1 to PWR4. The S7712 supports
both DC and AC power supplies. PWR1 and PWR2 are in area A, and PWR3 and PWR4 are in
area B. Area A and area B work in backup mode, as shown in
work in load balancing mode. PWR3 and PWR4 work in load balancing mode.
A DC power supply and an AC power supply cannot be located in the same area.
