Quick Start Guide for PIC24F Plug In Module for Curiosity HPC:

Introduction:

PIC24F Plug-in Module(PIM) is designed to help customers to evaluate PIC24FJ256GA705 family of
devices on Microchip's Curiosity HPC development board (DM164136).
The PIC24F PIM has 40-pin DIP socket at the bottom that will plug-in to the 40 pin DIP socket on the
Curiosity HPC board. Figure 1 and 2 shows the general board orientation.

Hardware:

Note: The "Power" Jumper on the HPC board should be placed on "3V3", NOT on "5V".
Use the port pins marked on the PIM to map the PIC24F device. To program/Debug the device, use the
PKoB on the Curiosity HPC board. In addition, a 6-pin ICSP interface is provided on the PIM using J2, if
you wish to program the device directly. The PIC24F device has two additional I/O's(RA7 and RB13) that
are terminated on J3, they are not mapped to 40-pin DIP. Detailed circuit schematic is attached in the
schematic section.

Powering the board:

Use USB connector to power the board. Note that the "Power" Jumper on the HPC board should be
placed on "3V3", NOT on "5V".
