Once the antenna and power supply have been installed and all cables have
been properly connected, you must run a channel scan before watching TV in
order to receive maximum programming.
The steps to run a channel scan vary from one TV to the next. For more specific
instructions, refer to your television owner's manual for assistance.
The following are general instructions for running a channel scan:
1
Using the television remote that came with the TV or the converter box
remote control, select MENU.
2
Select CHANNEL SET UP. (If you have a converter box, skip to step #4.)
3
Select ANTENNA or OFF-AIR MODE or AUTO SCAN.
Select CHANNEL SEARCH or CHANNEL SCAN.
4
Run a channel scan every time the antenna is moved or if the television loses

Troubleshooting

Do not install couplers, splitters, etc. between the power supply and the
antenna. Installation of any item on the downlead may cause a short
in the system. The downlead supplies +12 VDC to the preamp in the
antenna.
The power supply should be turned OFF when connecting/
disconnecting cables to power supply and antenna but should be
turned ON when testing for voltage.
Testing System
1
Make sure TV set is working properly.
Switch power supply ON and OFF while checking for difference in picture
2
quality. If there is no difference, continue with step 3.
Disconnect the cable from the antenna, and check for +12 VDC at Test
3
Point #1. To check for +12 VDC at Test Point #1, connect a good coax
cable to the Antenna port, and test for +12 VDC. If there is +12 VDC at
Test Point #1, there may be a problem with the antenna.
If there is NO +12

POINT #1
VDC at Test Point
+12 VDC
#1, reconnect cable
at Antenna
to antenna. Remove
power supply from
wall, and visually
inspect for burned/
broken parts. If there
are ANY broken/
burned parts, replace
power supply.
5
Disconnect cable from antenna jack
on power supply. Check for +12 VDC
at Test Point 2. If +12 VDC is present,
there is a cable problem connecting the power supply to the antenna.
Repair/replace cable.
6
If +12 VDC is not present at Test Point # 2, be sure the indicator light
is ON. If not, check the polarity of the red/white wires and the +12 VDC
source. If there is still no +12 VDC, replace power supply.
