3.2.6 1000BASE-LX/1000BASE-LH Single-mode Optical Fiber Cable
(Core Diameter: 10 μm, SC Twin-Core Connector)
This is used for the connection with 1000BASE-LX (GBIC-LX) and 1000BASE-LH (GBIC-LH).
The boundary with 1000BASE-LX/1000BASE-LH is the connector on GS4000.
The maximum transmission distance between the devices with 1000BASE-LX when using an
optic fiber which core/clad diameter is 10/125μm (wave length: 1300nm) is 5 km.
Likely, the maximum transmission distance between the devices with 1000BASE-LH when
using an optic fiber which core/clad diameter is 10/125μm (wave length: 1550nm) is 70 km.
Figure 3.2-6 shows the rough sketch of the cable, and Table 3.2-10 and Table 3.2-11 show the
specifications of optic fiber interfaces.
