3.2.2 1000BASE-SX/1000BASE-LX Multi-mode Optical Fiber Cable
(Core Diameter: 62.5 μm, LC Twin-Core Connector)
This is used for the connection with 1000BASE-SX (SFP-SX,SFP-SXA) and 1000BASE-LX
(SFP-LX,SFP-LXA).
The boundary with 1000BASE-SX/1000BASE-LX is the connector on GS4000.
The maximum transmission distance between the devices with 1000BASE-SX when using an
optic fiber which core/clad diameter is 62.5/125μm and bandwidth is 200MHz・km (wave
length: 850nm) is 275m.
Likely, the maximum transmission distance between the devices with 1000BASE-LX when
using an optic fiber which core/clad diameter is 62.5/125μm and bandwidth is 500MHz・km
(wave length: 1300nm) is 550m.
Figure 3.2-2 shows the rough sketch of the cable, and Table 3.2-3 and Table 3.2-4 show the
specifications of optic fiber interfaces.
