    1. FOREWORD 1.1 General This manual is an integral and essential part of the E-HYPERION pedal assisted bicycle. Before starting it is essential that users read, understand and scrupulously follow the following instructions. The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused to people and / or things or to pedal assisted bicycles, if they are used incorrectly with respect to the prescriptions indicated.

    3. BICYCLE DESCRIPTION 3.1 General description The pedal assisted bicycle is designed and built to be used outdoors, on roads and private or public environments. In par- ticular, the components and the type of pedal assisted bicycle allow you to tackle routes with asphalted and dirt surfaces without any particular roughness.

    3.3 Brakes The brake levers (Ref. C - Figure 3) are located on the handlebar of the pedal assisted bicycle, near the knobs (Ref. D - Figure 3).     3.5 Assistance system 3.5.1 Assistance management commands The pedal assisted bicycle has, in the center of the han- dlebar, a display that allows you to manage the operation of the electric motor, as well as other basic functions il- lustrated below. (Figure 4) Near the left handlebar grip there are 3 keys, which can be used with a short or long press, thanks to these it is possible to control the functions of the display.

    3.9 Error visualization In the event of an anomaly, the system signals the problem to the user by displaying a danger icon, together with a 4-character code that allows you to trace the type of problem.     3.11 Battery The bicycle provides pedaling assistance through an electric motor powered by the battery located in the down tube of the frame struc- ture (Figure 6) 3.11.1 Battery charge status You can view the battery charge status directly on the assistance system management display.

    6. COMMISSIONING 6.1 Battery charge Before using the bicycle for the first time, the battery must be charged for at least 8 hours, using the special battery charger supplied. The pedal assisted bicycle, HYPERION model, is equipped with an electric motor powered by a 36 V lithium-ion battery. The battery pack is housed in the central part of the frame, inside the lower tube.

    6.2 PRELIMINARY FUNCTIONAL CHECKS Before each use, the driver must check the safety status of the pedal assisted bicycle. Therefore, perform the following inspections before riding the pedal-assisted bicycle. 6.2.1 Comand input Check the efficiency and state of charge of the battery. Use in a very cold environment quickly degrades the efficiency of the battery.

    6.2.4 Position of the frame and the saddle Check that the frame and saddle are properly secured and positioned in the most comfortable configuration for the rider for complete control of the bike.     7.1 Usage of the bicycle Before using the pedal assisted bicycle in places open to traffic, it is advisable to familiarize yourself with the behavior of the vehicle. The first uses must be made in private environments away from traffic, other cyclists or obstacles of any kind. The driver must adapt the travel speed of the pedal assisted bicycle to the conditions of the route and the presence of other vehicles or pedestrians.

All maintenance operations must be carried out with the battery disconnected from the pedal-assisted bicycle and from the battery charger and the bicycle resting in a stable manner, making use of special support elements.

    8.3 Monthly maintenance and checks 8.3.1 Washing and cleaning Cleaning the pedal assisted bicycle is not only a matter of decorum, but also allows you to immediately detect any defect in it. In order not to damage or compromise the functioning of the various components, especially the electrical parts, cleaning must be carried out taking certain precautions.

    8.4 Maintenance and monthly check 8.4.1 Control of circuits and electrical components Check the condition and fastening of the battery cables: the sheaths of the electric cables must be in good condition and the terminals must be well tightened, not corroded and covered with insulating grease. DISPOSAL OF COMPONENTS AND MATERIALS DISPOSAL OF MATERIALS The disposal of packaging, waste and vacuumed dust, the replaced parts, the pedal assisted bicycle as a whole at the end of its expected life, must be carried out in respect of the environment; avoiding to pollute the soil, water and air, respecting in any case the national and local legislation in force on the subject.
