10. SEDIMENT CUP

WARNING
Gasoline is extremely flammable and is explosive under
certain conditions. Do not smoke or allow flames or sparks
in the area.
After installing the fuel filter, check for leaks, and make sure
the area is dry before starting the engine.
1. Turn the fuel valve to OFF and remove the strainer cup.
2. Clean the strainer cup with solvent.
3. Install the O-ring and strainer cup.
Tighten the strainer cup to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 4 N•m (2.9 ft•lb)
11. SPARK ARRESTER
(OPTIONAL PARTS)
WARNING
The muffler becomes very hot during operation and
remains hot for a while after stopping the engine. Be
careful not to touch the muffler while it is hot. Allow it to cool
before proceeding.
CAUTION
The spark arrester must be serviced every 100 hours to
maintain its efficiency.
1. Remove the four 5 x 8 mm tapping screws from the upper
muffler protector.
2. Remove the upper muffler protector.
3. Remove the 4 x 8 mm screw and spark arrester.
Be careful not to damage the wire mesh of the spark arrester.
4. Check the carbon deposits around the exhaust port and spark
arrester. Clean, if necessary.
Replace the spark arrester if there are any breaks or tears.
5. Install the spark arrester and upper muffler protector in the
reverse order of removal.
