Siero solar exterior wall lamp with motion detector

Intended use
This product is designed for use as an outdoor lamp. It is powered by Ni-MH rechargeable batteries that
charge via a built-in solar cell. The product has an IP44 protection rating and can be installed and operated
outdoors in suitable conditions. The IP protection rating is only guaranteed when the product is installed
correctly. This lamp is designed to be mounted on a wall. It must be mounted in a sheltered position away
from from excessive moisture, dirt and heat. A twilight switch switches the light on and off according to the
ambient brightness. The lamp becomes brighter when movement is detected by the built-in infrared motion
sensor.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. Using the product for
purposes other than those described above may damage the product. In addition, improper use can cause
hazards such as short circuits, fire and electric shocks. Read the instructions carefully and store them in a
safe place. Make this product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

Safety information
Read the operating instructions and safety information carefully. If you do not follow the
safety instructions and information on proper handling in this manual, we assume no
liability for any resulting personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate
the warranty/guarantee.
a) General information
• This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly, as it may become dangerous playing
material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, strong jolts, flammable gases, vapours and
solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, stop using it and prevent unauthorized
use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stress.
• Always handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height may
damage the product.
• Consult a technician if you are not sure how to use or connect the product.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs must be done by a technician or an authorized repair
centre.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our
technical support service or other technical personnel.
• Warning, LED light:
- Do not look directly at the LED light!
- Do not look into the beam directly or with optical instruments!
b) Rechargeable batteries
• Ensure that you insert batteries in the correct polarity.
• If you do not plan to use the lamp for an extended period of time, remove all batteries to
prevent them from leaking. Leaking or damaged rechargeable batteries may cause acid burns
when they come into contact with skin. Always use suitable protective gloves when handling
damaged rechargeable batteries.
• Keep batteries out of the reach of children. Do not leave rechargeable batteries lying around,
as they constitute a choking hazard for children and pets.
• All rechargeable batteries should be replaced at the same time. Mixing old and new
rechargeable batteries can lead to battery leakage and damage the appliance.
• Rechargeable batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire. Never
charge conventional, non-rechargeable batteries, as this may cause an explosion.
Preparation for mounting
Pay attention to the "Safety instructions" section.
Caution! By carrying out improper work on the product you endanger not only yourself, but
also others! If you are not sure how to mount the product, consult an electrician. Do not
attempt to mount it yourself.
• Mount the outdoor lamp out of the reach of children.
• Only mount the outdoor lamp on a stable surface. Depending on the surface, you may need to use the
screws and dowels provided.
• Ensure that the lamp is exposed to the sun so that the batteries charge properly.
• To test that the twilight switch and motion sensor are working properly before mounting the lamp,
charge the batteries using a compatible battery charger, and then turn the lamp on. See "Operation" and
"Changing the batteries" for details.

Installation

Pay attention to the information in the "Preparation for mounting" section.
Ensure that no existing cables or pipes (including water pipes) are damaged when drilling
mounting holes or securing screws.

Charging the batteries
The batteries are charged via the built-in solar cell. Before using the outdoor wall lamp for the first time, leave
it turned on in direct sunlight for two days to allow the batteries to charge.
• Unscrew the two side screws using a screwdriver and pull
the wall mounting clamp out of the housing.
• Use the wall mounting clamp as a template to mark the
screw holes on the mounting surface (check that the lamp
housing is in the correct orientation).
• Drill two holes for the dowels into the mounting surface.
(If you are using a wooden surface, you can directly
screw the wall mounting clamp to the surface without
using dowels. However, you should still drill holes into
the wood.)
• Insert the dowels into the drilled holes.
• Align the wall mounting clamp in a horizontal position and
secure it to the wall using the screws provided.
• Place the wall lamp onto the wall mounting clamp.
• Fix the lamp to the wall mounting clamp using the side
screws that you previously removed.
