SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION FROM PC
4.1)
Introduction
The PC configuration software is a simple and complete interface for programming the
NFG-8 control unit.
The software is used for:
•
Load data from the control unit and check its programming and event memory
•
Simplify changes to the operating modes of the control unit (e.g. the alarm levels
of the sensors)
•
Download to the central unit the configuration and changes made to the NFG-8
central unit program
•
Maintenance
•
Initial programming of the control unit by the installer.

MINIMUM PC HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
Operating System: Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows
7 CPU: Pentium 3, 500Mhz
System Memory (RAM): 256MB
Hard Disk: 400MB free space

Installation
Copy the installation file to your PC and run it, then follow the instructions on the screen.
The connection with the PC is via RS232 serial port or via USB available on the main
board of the control unit.
On the control unit board, near the RS232 and USB sockets, there is a switch that must
be positioned on the side of the connection you want to use (USB or RS232).

Opening of the programme
Open the program from the Windows program bar by clicking on NFG Central
Configurator x.x.x

A window will appear where you can login. Each user must be authorised to operate in
the program. See chapter "User management application" later in the manual for the
creation of users with the relative access levels.
