OPERATION OF THE METAL PROFILE DETECTION FUNCTION
Before turning on the detection function, make sure that there is no moisture on the housing of the device. If necessary, dry the instru-
ment with a cloth.

Figure 4
The maximum metal detection depth is 100 mm.
Press 2 to activate the detection function, then press key 3 to enter metal detection mode.
Place the instrument on the surface and move to the left or right. When the instrument gradually detects a metal object, the metal
icon will be displayed on the display screen and will gradually increase as the instrument approaches the metal object. At the same
time, a beep will sound.
When the instrument is nearest to the metal, the middle icon appears on the display.
A steel rod represents magnetic metals;
The copper tube represents non-magnetic metals.
When the device detects and determines the type of metal (magnetic/non-magnetic), the type and depth of the deposit will
be displayed on the screen (FIG. 5 and FIG. 6);
With stainless steel profiles, the device cannot determine whether the metal is magnetic or non-magnetic and the distance is not
displayed (FIG. 7).
When live cables are detected (FIGURE 4), the unit beeps and an AC icon appears on the screen.

Shortly press key 2 to activate the detection function and then press key 3 to move to the
metal detection function:
As shown in Figure 3, the interface of the metal detection function is prepared for de-
tection, and the loudspeaker emits the current detection mode, at that time, if the steel
rod icon, copper tube and stainless steel tube are displayed on the screen without metal
interference, which means calibration is required.
The calibration method consists in placing the instrument in a metal-free environment
with strong magnetic field disturbances (such as: lifting the instrument by hand into the
air, etc.), then pressing and holding button 3 (metal detection button) until the screen
shows the detection interface, as shown in Fig.3
