10 ADDRESS BOOK MODE
Saving records
To save the entered data, press the [Enter] key. The system completes the current record and reverts to
an input screen for the next new record.
If an error occurs, the system will display one of the following messages for one second before
returning to the previous data input/edit screen.
NO NAME FIELD!!
No data has been entered into the name field. Enter data into the name field before saving the record.
USER MEMORY OVER FLOW!!
The address book does not have enough memory to save the current record. Delete data from fields
other than the name field, or delete unnecessary records and reenter data.
Canceling new record entry and quitting
To discard all information just entered for a record and to begin with a blank record, press the [Esc]
key. The cursor moves to the input position in the name field of a blank record.
To finish record creation and return to the address book submenu, press the [Submode] key ([Shift],
[Mode]). You can also use the [Mode] key to return directly to the top menu. In either case, all the
information entered for the current record will be discarded.
Displaying an existing record
(1) Select "2. Search Record" from the submenu, using the arrow keys [↑] or [↓], then press the [Enter]
key.
(2) A keyword input screen appears.
[Name Keyword]
Display:
To search for name fields, enter a keyword and press the [Enter] key. Or display the first record in
the address book by pressing [Enter] without entering a keyword.
You can enter up to 25 bytes worth of characters for a keyword (12 kana characters + one ASCII
character, or 21 ASCII-only characters, including ↵ in either case).
(3) The first record containing the name beginning with the specified keyword is displayed.
If no name begins with the specified keyword, the next closest record is displayed. For example, if
a keyword "b" is specified with records having names "abs," "cde," "def" registered, the record
containing the name "cde" is displayed. If there are no relevant registered records, a message "NO
RECORD EXISTING!!" is displayed for one second before the system reverts to the keyword input
screen.
(4) When a record is displayed, press the arrow keys [↑] or [↓] to move the current selection to the
preceding or following field. Pressing the arrow keys [←] or [→] displays the preceding or follow-
ing record.
Press the [Enter] key to enter record data edit mode. If you press this key inadvertently, press the
[Esc] key to return to the previous mode.
(5) Press the [Esc] key to return to the keyword input screen. To return to the address book submenu,
press the [Submode] key ([Shift], [Mode]).
