1 OVERVIEW VERVIEW The S5U1C88348T is a demonstration tool for Seiko Epson's S1C88 Family of 8-bit single-chip microcom- puters. The S5U1C88348T may be operated with external ROM (MPU mode) or connected to the peripheral circuit board (S5U1C88348P) on the ICE (S5U1C88000H5) after removal of the MPU board. This permits its use as a user application development tool for S1C88 Family microcomputers, including the S1C88348, S1C88317, S1C88316, and S1C88308.

When shipped from the factory, the S5U1C88348T is set up so that the demonstration program built into the S1C8P348 on the MPU board is ready to run. This setup is convenient for using the S5U1C88348T as a development tool for user program. The following describes how to set up or modify the S5U1C88348T for such a case.
