Faults and repairs

It is not always necessary to call the after-sales service.
Sometimes, you can find a remedy yourself. You will find some
tips for troubleshooting in the following table.
Problem
Electrical operation is malfunctioning (e.g.
indicator lamps do not light up)
A time is flashing in the text display
Electronically controlled functions are
malfunctioning
The appliance is not heating up, two small
squares appear in the top left and right-
hand corners of the text display
"Service Test Mode" appears in the text
display.
"E101" or "E104" appears in the text
display
"E011" appears in the text display.
EXXX, e.g. E300, appears in the text
display
It is not possible to operate the appliance
and "Appliance locked" appears in the text
display
It is not possible to operate the appliance
and "Appliance permanently locked"
appears in the text display
When you switch on an operating mode,
"Temperature too high" appears in the text
display
The appliance has switched itself off
automatically
Smoke is generated during roasting or
grilling
Liquid or very thin dough runs to one side The appliance has not been fitted level
High levels of condensation are generated
in the cooking compartment
Enamelled accessories have light, matt
marks
Door panels are misted up
If the appliance is briefly switched on and
off again, the previous settings are shown

Work on the appliance electronics may only be performed by
a specialist.
Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply
when work is carried out on the electronics. Switch off the
circuit breaker or remove the fuse from your household fuse
box.
Possible cause
Fuse defective
There was a power cut
Energy surges (e.g. lightning strike)
A button combination was actuated
A button combination was actuated
The temperature sensor is faulty
Permanent assignment of a button
Internal fault in the appliance electronics
The appliance has been locked
The appliance controls were automatically
blocked
The appliance has not cooled down fully
The appliance has switched off to protect
itself from overheating
Fat is burning on the grill element
Wire rack or universal pan inserted
incorrectly
Normal occurrence (e.g. when baking
cakes with very moist toppings or roasting
a large joint)
Normal occurrence caused by dripping
meat or fruit juices
Normal occurrence caused by
temperature differences
The appliance saves the last settings for a
few seconds
Risk of electric shock!
Remedial action
Check fuses in the fuse box and replace if
necessary
Reset the time of day and date (see
section: Electronic clock)
Reset the function concerned
Switch off the appliance, touch the
button for 3 seconds, scroll until "Lock"
