Lubrication
Before every use:
Check the oil level in the gearbox. Remove the oil plug on the side of the gearbox. The oil level should
be up to the lower threads of the hole. If oil level is low, add 90 wt. gear oil.
Inspect the auger's cutting teeth and point. Replace if excessive wear is found.
Every 8 hours:
Remove and clean dirt and/or debris from the Post Hole Digger/Auger.
Inspect the auger's cutting teeth and point. Replace if excessive wear is found.
Lubricate and inspect the PTO. (See Fig. 4).
Every 25 hours:
Check Post Hole Digger hardware for tightness. Vibration from normal use can cause hardware to loosen.
See "Torque Specification" chart of page 17, for proper torque values.
After each use:
1. Thoroughly clean the Post Hole Digger & Auger.
2. Lubricate moving parts as needed.
3. Store in a shed or under a shelter after use.
