    User Manual Chapter 1 GFK-2883F Sep 2019 CEP Expansion Carrier The RX3i CEP Expansion Carrier is attached to the RX3i CEP Carrier and provides the ability to add one additional RX3i IC694 I/O module to the remote node. It is used only with an RX3i CEP Carrier, which performs I/O scanning of the Expansion Carrier.

  • Page 11 Sep 2019 Bumpless Operation with MRP The RX3i CEP Carrier supports bumpless operation with the Emerson PROFINET IO- Controller if specific conditions are met. Bumpless operation means that a single break in an MRP ring will not cause the PROFINET connection to be lost and there is no observed loss and addition of PROFINET I/O Devices while the ring network recovers.

    This could happen when the RX3i CEP Carrier is not powered on, connected to the network, or there is a network or configuration issue such that the IO-Controller cannot communicate with the RX3i CEP Carrier. Emerson IO-Controllers support defaulting inputs to Force Off or Hold Last State values until communication is restored.

The Fatal Error Action parameter determines the action the RX3i CEP Carrier will take in case a fatal error occurs.

  • Page 36 Sep 2019 Configuring Modules with Multiple Modes of Operation Some PACSystems RX3i analog modules have multiple modes of operation that change the acceptable maximum limits for their configuration values. For example, an IC695ALG616 analog input module supports a different set of A/D Scaling Units when in 4 to 20mA operation than when it is in -10V to +10V operation (Figure 15).

    Configuring Analog Modules that have Jumpers Some PACSystems RX3i analog modules have jumpers on their terminal strips that control the operation of their I/O. For example, the IC69xALG220 can operate as a +10vdc to -10vdc analog input or a 4-20mA analog input depending on a jumper setting. Similarly, the IC69xALG390 uses a jumper rather than a DIP switch to control Force Off or Hold Last State operation.
