network settings
Press and hold Remote Start 
1.

Set the programme to position 5.

a The display shows rES.
Press Start/Reload.

a The display shows YES.
Press Start/Reload.
4.
a The network settings are reset.
a If End is shown on the display, the
network settings are reset.

Enable the appliance for remote start
via the Home Connect app.
Activating remote start
Notes
¡ Remote start is deactivated for
safety reasons in the following
circumstances:
– Open the appliance door.
– Press Start/Reload.
– Press Remote Start  .
– Switch off the appliance.
– Following a power cut.
¡ For safety reasons, remote start
cannot be activated if the appli-
ance door is open.
Requirements
¡ The appliance is connected to your
Wi-Fi home network.
¡ The appliance is connected to the
Home Connect app.
¡ A programme is selected.
Press Remote Start  .
If you press and hold the button
for at least 3 seconds, the
Home Connect menu opens.
If you briefly press the button, the
appliance is enabled for remote
start via the Home Connect app.
If you open the appliance door, the
function is automatically deactiv-
ated.

15.8 Remote diagnostics
Customer Service can use Remote
Diagnostics to access your appliance
if you contact them, have your appli-
ance connected to the Home Con-
nect server and if Remote Dia-
gnostics is available in the country in
which you are using the appliance.

15.9 Data protection
Please see the information on data
protection.
The first time your appliance is
registered on a home network
connected to the Internet, your
appliance will transmit the following
types of data to the Home Connect
server (initial registration):
¡ Unique appliance identification
(consisting of appliance codes as
well as the MAC address of the
Wi-Fi communication module in-
stalled).
¡ Security certificate of the Wi-Fi
communication module (to ensure
a secure data connection).
¡ The current software and hardware
version of your appliance.
¡ Status of any previous reset to
factory settings.
