WARNING
SHF Pumps and Electric Pumps (code 001073145).
Read the manuals before installing and using the product.
Improper use may cause personal injury and damage to property, and lead to the forfeiture of the warranty coverage.

2. Product Description

The FHF and SHF ATEX range includes horizontal single-impeller non-self-priming electric pumps, coupled to flameproof electric motors by a flexible coupling.
Only the FHF or SHF ATEX pump is available.
In the SHF series, all the metal parts that are in contact with the water are made of stainless steel.
In the FHF series, some of the metal parts in contact with the water are made of stainless steel, others are made of cast iron.
This pump/electric pump is suitable for use in environments with potentially explosive atmospheres, due to the presence of flammable
substances in the form of gas, vapour or mist.

The drawings in section 10.2 enable identification of the essential data found on the rating plates.
3.1.3 Pumped Liquids, Pressures, Temperatures
These pumps/electric pumps are suitable for pumping hot and cold potable water and water-glycol mixtures.
WARNING
Do not use this pump/electric pump to handle liquids containing abrasive, solid or fibrous substances.
Do not use this pump/electric pump to handle flammable and/or explosive liquids.
Observe the working limits specified in the product's rating plates.

3.1.4 Suction
In case of negative suction head (negative pressure on suction side) make sure that the flow resistance in the suction pipe added to the suction lift (height dif-
ference between the water source and the pump suction port) does not exceed the pump's suction capacity, as this could cause the onset of cavitation.
Make sure that the pump is always filled with water.
Do not use the pump if cavitation occurs, as its internal components could be damaged and become potential sources of fire.
For additional information ➜ section 10.4.
Make sure that the sum of the pressure on the suction side (water system, gravity tank) and the maximum pressure delivered by the
WARNING
pump does not exceed the maximum working pressure allowed (nominal pressure PN) for the pump.
For additional information ➜ section 10.5
If you pump hot water, you must guarantee a minimum pressure on the suction side to prevent the generation of steam.
WARNING
For additional information ➜ section 10.6.
3.1.5 Minimum Nominal Flow Rate
To prevent overheating of the internal pump components, make sure that a minimum water flow is always guaranteed when the pump is running.
Do not run the pump with the on-off valve shut on the delivery side for longer than a few seconds.
WARNING
For additional information ➜ section 10.7.
