1. General

The purpose of this manual is to provide the necessary information for the installation, use and maintenan-
ce of the FC - FCT series pumps. Instructions for disassembly and assembly are also provided, together
with a comprehensive troubleshooting chart.

2. Preliminary inspection

After unpacking the pump make sure that no damage has occurred during shipping.
Should the pump be damaged, please inform our agent within 10 days from the delivery date.

3. Applications

FC-FCT series pumps are designed to handle liquids which are not chemically or mechanically aggressi-
ve, at temperatures from -20°C to +140°C (see values for specific versions).
They can be used in many different applications both in the civil and industrial sector:
• Water supply.
• Sprinklers and irrigation systems.
• Heating.
• Air conditioning.
• Transfer of clean non-aggressive liquids.

4. Working limits

Maximum working pressure: 10 bar for FCE-FCTE version
Temperature of pumped liquid: -10°C ÷ +130°C for FCE-FCTE version
Maximum ambient temperature: 40°C
Maximum number of start-up per hour: 20 (at regular intervals) up to 5,5 kW
Admissible voltage fluctuations: ± 10%
The pump is not suitable for handling:
WARNING
- liquids containing abrasives
- liquids with solid and fibrous substances
- infiammable and explosive liquids.
During operation, the outer surface of the pump (if hot liquids are being pumped) and the
outer surface of the motor can exceed 40°C. Do not touch with parts of your body (e.g.:
hands) and do not put combustible material into contact with the pump.

5. Installation

Handling
The product must be handled with care using suitable hoisting equipment.
Impacts can cause damage without any visible external signs. Hoist unpacked products securely
using a sling.
Do not use the eyebolts on the motor, if fitted, to move the whole pump; only use them to move just
the motor, if it needs replacing, after disconnecting it from the pump.
The FC FCT electric pumps can be installed either in the horizontal or vertical position. However, avoid
installation with the motor underneath to prevent water infiltration into the motor and bearings.
Provide a gate valve upstream and downstream from the pump, and leave a 5 cm clearance between the
fan cover and any large obstacle to ensure free circulation of the motor cooling air. Bleed the pump through
the bleed valve. Do not install the pump at the lowest point in the system to avoid accumulation of depo-
sits. Fill the system completely and bleed it properly.
N.B. Twin pumps: bleed both pumps through the bleed valve on the pump body. If necessary, repeat the
operation several times.
