Inserting/Ejecting the Disk When reading disk data, because the disk revolves at high speed, it may vibrate or make a wind noise. Keep the tray closed unless ejecting or inserting a disk. If dust settles in the product it may cause device failure. If the balance of the disk is off centre or a sticker is stuck on the disk, this product will vibrate causing a decrease in performance and a possible failure in read and write operations.

Pull the tray out fully. Tray Insert the disk to the centre of the tray. Holding the bottom of the tray with your hand, push the disk into place until a click is heard. Tray CAUTION • If the disk is not correctly put in place, the disk may become separated from the drive causing damage to the tray, drive or disk.
Ejecting the disk After ejecting the tray by pressing the eject button as in Steps 1-2 of "4.1 Inserting the disk" ( pg.45), remove the disk from the tray by lifting it out of the tray while pressing the release catch in the centre of the tray.
Cautions during Operations • Read/write performance may change due to the following. - The state of the recording surface of the disk (wear and tear, dirt, production features, etc.) - The state of the lens - The server load • The "Eject" button in the "My Computer" and "Explorer" menus cannot be executed by users that are not in the Administrator group.
Cautions when Operating on Linux This section explains cautions when operating this product on Linux. When using this DVD-ROM drive after expansion, follow the example below and edit the "/boot/ grub/grub.conf" file and restart the system.
