Running e-DiagTools from the HP Image Creation and Recovery
CD-ROM
To run e-DiagTools from this CD-ROM:
1 Insert the HP CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive. Shut down the
operating system and restart your computer.
2 Press the F8 key to set the boot order so that the PC boots from the
CD-ROM first.
3 From the menu, select the option to run e-DiagTools.
4 When e-DiagTools starts, it will display a welcome screen. Follow the
on-screen instructions to perform the diagnostic tests.
The diagnostics utility will automatically detect the complete hardware
configuration of your system before any tests are performed.
Running e-DiagTools from the HP DiagTools CD-ROM
To run e-DiagTools from the HP DiagTools CD-ROM, follow this
procedure:
1 Insert the HP DiagTools CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive. Shut down
the operating system and restart your computer.
2 Press the F8 key to set the boot order so that the PC boots from the
CD-ROM first.
3 The PC will boot from the CD-ROM. The programs on the CD-ROM
will automatically determine the appropriate version of e-DiagTools
to run.
4 When e-DiagTools starts, it will display a welcome screen. Follow the
on-screen instructions to perform the diagnostic tests.
The diagnostics utility will automatically detect the complete hardware
configuration of your system before any tests are performed.
