Configuring the Video Memory Size in a Windows 95 Window
The control display that allows the amount of video memory to be changed
is accessed as follows:
1 Select "Settings", then "Control Panel".
2 Double-click the "Display" icon.
3 Click the "HP Dynamic Video" tab.
The amount of system memory resizes automatically as the amount of video
memory is changed. (Conversely, the amount of video memory resizes
automatically if the control for the amount of system memory is changed).
Configuring the Video Memory Size Using the Setup Program
The amount of main memory, which is reserved for use by the graphics
controller, can be set as a parameter in the Setup program for any operating
system.
1 Restart the computer, and type to run the Setup program.
2 Select the "Configuration" screen.
3 Select the "Video" sub-menu.
4 Select the desired setting in the "Video Memory Size" field.
The "VESA feature connector" field on the same sub-menu, can be
enabled
to allow the use of VESA accessory boards.

Available Video Resolutions

If Video Plug and Play is enabled in the Setup program, and a DDC display is
detected, Setup will configure the best refresh rate automatically. For non
DDC displays, or when Video Plug and Play is disabled, the refresh rates can
be changed manually in the Setup program. DDC can be enabled by
software (such as the HP UserTool in Windows for Workgroups 3.11 or
Windows 95) even if Video Plug and Play is disabled in the Setup program.
The number of colors supported is limited by the graphics device and the
video memory. The resolution/color/refresh-rate combination is limited by a
combination of the display driver, the graphics device, and the video
memory. If the resolution/refresh-rate combination is set higher than the
display can support, you risk damaging the display.
Drivers are provided on the flexible diskette that is supplied with the
computer (5063-9036). The following table lists the available video
resolutions using these drivers. The available resolutions may be different
with later versions of each of these drivers.
