FOREWORD
1) Before using the jack, carefully read these instructions and become acquainted with the safety symbols.
2) This handbook is an integral part of the machine; it must be read and definitely has to be conserved;
the contents of this handbook comply with Machine Directive 98/37 EEC and the jack is type approved in
conformity with the European Norm EN 1494 and following amendments.
3) The manufacturer reserves the right to make modifications without prior notice and without incurring any
sanctions whatsoever, without prejudice to the safety and main technical characteristics.
4) The symbol is a safety warning and indicates that the instructions must be followed in order to
prevent damage to persons. Failure to observe the instructions may cause personal injury, which in some
cases may be mortal.
MARKING AND IDENTIFICATION
On receiving your jack, check that the marking is identical to that given in this handbook, and placed on the
left side of the cover, looking at the jack from the control side. DWG. 1
GENERAL SAFETY REGULATIONS
1) The jack is an instrument suitable only for lifting – not for supporting.
Therefore it is absolutely forbidden to work in any way under the vehicle being lifted until it is on the
supporting means.
2) Never tamper with the pressure relief valve which is sealed. DWG. 2
3) Place the jack so that the load is centred over it and where the gripping points are indicated by the
vehicle manufacturer. DWG. 3
4) After having lifted the load it is absolutely essential to place it on supports. DWG. 4
5) Before starting lifting, it is necessary to block the vehicle by placing two wedges by the wheels, as
shown in the figure. DWG. 5
6) Do not lift the load in a confined space so as not to run the risk of getting trapped. DWG. 6
7) During lifting and descent, it is necessary to check there are no persons under the suspended load.
8) Before lowering the load make sure the handlebar is horizontal. DWG. 7
9) Never lift loads on sloping, uneven or soft ground. DWG. 8
10) Use only extensions supplied by the manufacturer with the machine.
Do not use the jack for lifting without the special plate provided with it.
Never use more than two extensions. DWG. 9
