Problem
System will not boot

Solving Software
Problems
If you encounter CD-ROM or DVD problems, refer to the
common causes and solutions listed in the following table or
to the documentation that came with the optional device.
Cause
The CD-ROM or DVD boot is
not enabled through the
Computer Setup utility.
Non-bootable CD in drive.
Drive is not connected
properly or not properly
configured.
Movie may be regionalized for
a different country.
Most software problems occur as a result of the following:
The application was not installed or configured
correctly.
There is insufficient memory available to run the
application.
There is a conflict between applications.
Where available, run the Compaq Configuration Utility to
determine if any changes have been made to the software which
may be causing a problem. Refer to the online Intelligent
Manageability guide for more information.
Solution
Run the Computer Setup utility (F10 Setup) and set
the drive priorities.
Try a bootable CD in the drive.
Refer to the documentation that came with the
optional device.
Refer to the documentation that came with the DVD
drive.
