Feature
Purpose
Cable Lock
Inhibits access to the interior of the computer to

NOTE: In the event of a failed ROM flash, the
serial port is automatically enabled so that a
second computer can be linked to the Deskpro
4000N, allowing the ROM to be flashed from a
ROMPaq diskette inserted in the diskette drive
on the second computer. Compaq Floppy Disk
Software* (FDS) must be installed on the second
computer in order to establish a serial
connection and enable the Deskpro 4000N to
use the diskette drive.

Your computer includes security features to protect the
computer and data from unauthorized access. You can view
Security Management features and current settings by using
Enhanced Compaq Insight Personal Edition (locally), Compaq
Insight Manager (remotely), or PC LAN management
applications from the Management Solution Partners.
Security Management features can be disabled through
CMOS, SW1 DIP switch settings, or reinstallation of the
operating system. Compaq strongly recommends the use
of the cable lock provision to prevent access to the
interior components of the computer.
How It Is Established
Install a padlock with the
security bracket to inhibit
access to the interior of the
computer; add a cable lock to
secure the computer to a fixed
object.
