Observe the polarity of the brake wiring.Incorrect connection will result in vibration when coming
out of a mechanical end stop
To test the ZVR-500 locally press the SELF-TEST switch for approximately 3 seconds.The ZVR-500 will
then perform a self test cycle exercising each function in turn.Status LED's are provided for +5V,VICTA
Comms,RS422 Comms,Zoom and Focus.

ADDRESS SETTINGS

If the ZVR-500 is to be controlled over twisted pair cable the address will need to be set to correspond with
the camera numbering scheme.To set the Camera address follow the procedure below.The default address
is 1.

Power-up the ZVR-500 with the SELF-TEST switch held down until the MAC Programming menu
appears

Press and release the SELF-TEST switch.Each press will increment the camera address by one.

If the SELF-TEST switch is held down the camera address will increment automatically.

When the desired camera address is displayed, power-down the ZVR-500.The address has now
been stored.

If the required camera address is lower than the displayed camera address power-down the ZVR-
500 and repeat the procedure from step 01.The camera address always reverts to address 1 with
the first press of the SELF-TEST switch.

ADJUSTMENTS

AUTO-IRIS ADJUSTMENT

Point the camera at an average scene with good illumination.

Set the PEAK/AVERAGE control to average.

Adjust the IRIS control until the brightest parts of the image just begin to " flatten out " .

View a scene with bright highlights ,move the PEAK/AVERAGE control back towards peak until
any highlight distortion or overloading has been removed.

Cover lens and check iris opens freely.Remove cover and check iris closes down to produce a
good picture again.

The LVG control has been factory set and normally does not require adjustment.
PWI ADJUSTMENT

View a scene with a single very bright object which covers no more than 5% of the picture area.

Select PWI from the keyboard and adjust the PWI control to the point where no inversion takes
place,then slowly bring the control back until the PWI just covers the highlighted areas.

PWI of large areas is not recommended due to the inevitable contention with the auto-iris and
AGC of the camera.
