Setting up the connection environment

This section explains how to set up the software for building a wireless LAN environment with the Access
Point.
To set up the connection environment, proceed as follows:

Use the Wireless Palette software to register the Access Point to every computer that you want to
connect in a wireless LAN.

If you made settings by means of the Initial Wireless Network Registration Wizard when you
installed the Wireless LAN Utility, basic setup has already been done.

Use the Basic Setup Utility to set up the Access Point on one of the wireless LAN computers.

Establishing communication with the Access Point
On every computer you want to connect to the wireless LAN, use the Wireless Palette to establish the
communication with the Access Point.
If you made settings by means of the Initial Wireless Network Registration Wizard when you installed
the Wireless LAN Utility, basic setup has already been done. In that case, skip the steps below and proceed
directly to the Verifying communication with the Access Point
Before attempting to establish a wireless LAN environment:
Check the six-digit Access Point ID on the bottom surface of the Access Point.
