    Always put the vehicle in park before operating this remote start sys- tem. Activating this system while the shift lever is in a drive gear will cause the vehicle to lurch forward and may cause damage to persons or property as a result. © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc.

    The remote start function of your system is usually controlled by pressing Buttons I and II at the same time. These assignments can be changed if need- ed, such as for two-car operation from one remote. © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc.

    Valet® Mode. This is very useful when washing the vehicle or having it serviced. In Valet® Mode, the system will not arm, even with the transmitter, but all conve- nience functions (door locks, trunk release, etc.) will work nor- mally. © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc.

    The remote start system will be shut down when you step on the brake. However the motor will continue to run since the ignition has been turned on. You may now operate the vehicle as usual. © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc.

    To exit timer mode: Turn on the ignition with the key when the vehicle is not running. NOTE: If the system receives a shutdown input while operating in the timer mode, the engine will stop and restart in 3 hours! © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc.

    Zone A zone is a separate input that the alarm can recognize as unique. Each input to the system is connected to a particular zone. Often two or more inputs may share the same zone. © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc.

When the system arms, you will hear a short chirp, and see the parking lights flash once. Arming While Driving Press Button I on your transmitter while the vehicle is running.
