Screensaver Picture Generating Tool
Utility for creation of image.bin file for the GXV-3000
Notes:
Images MUST be resized to 320x240 format. This can be accomplished very easily by
using Microsoft Paint or other commercial photo processing software like Adobe
PhotoShop, etc.
The GXV-300 only support following:
• Baseline JPEG
• 320x240 in dimension
• RGB color space
• 8-bit data
There is a limitation for the flash size inside the phone to hold the screensaver pictures.
The maximum is 20 images or 320kb, whichever limit is reached first.
Tips:
Scaling Images in Microsoft Paint:
1) Open the image you wish to use with Microsoft Paint: (found in Start->Programs
->Accessories).
2) Open: Image->Attributes menu option and write down the width and the height
shown.
3) Click "cancel" and select the Image->Stretch/Skew menu option. Use the following
formulas for the horizontal and vertical stretching factors:
Horizontal factor = 100*(320/width)
Vertical factor = 100*(240/height)
4) Plug the width and height you wrote down into these formulas, and fill the respective
boxes with the value that results. Don't include trailing decimal places, as the
stretch/skew utility only accepts integer percentages.
5) Click OK. Then open the Image->Attributes menu option again. The shown width
and height should be very close to 320x240. If the width and height are not exactly
320 and 240 respectively, then enter 320 into the width box and 240 into the height
box.
6) Click OK and save your image. The picture is now ready to be used in the GXV-
3000 screensaver generating utility.
