Topping up coolant
Open cap 1 of expansion tank.
Add coolant up to specified
level. To do this, use a funnel
with a filler neck or hose.
Checking coolant level

Close cap of expansion tank.

Checking tire pressure
WARNING
Incorrect tire inflation pres-

Ensure proper tire inflation
pressure.
WARNING
Valve inserts open of their
own accord at high speeds
Sudden loss of tire inflation pres-
sure
Use valve caps with rubber
sealing ring and screw on
firmly.
Park motorcycle, ensuring that
support surface is firm and
level.
Check tire pressures against
data below.
Tire pressure, front
36.3 psi (2.5 bar)
Tire pressure, rear
42.1 psi (2.9 bar)
If tire pressure is too low:
Correct tire pressure.

Wheel rims and tires

Checking wheel rims
Park motorcycle, ensuring that
support surface is firm and
level.
Subject wheel rims to visual
inspection for defects.
Have damaged rims checked
and, if necessary, replaced
by a specialist service facil-
ity, preferably an authorized
BMW Motorrad retailer.
