Selection
Riding mode selection
Different riding modes can be se-
lected in order to adapt the mo-
torcycle to the prevailing weather,
road conditions and the particular
motorcyclist's riding style:
RAIN
ROAD (standard mode)
with riding modes Pro
DYNAMIC
DYNAMIC PRO
Each riding mode affects the be-
havior of the motorcycle in a dif-
ferent way. ABS and/or ASC/
DTC can be switched off in each
riding mode. The following expla-
nations refer to the chassis con-
trol systems being switched on.
The last selected riding mode is
reactivated automatically after the
ignition is switched off and on
again.
The following always applies:
The sportier the selected riding
mode, the more directly the en-
gine output can be utilized. At
the same time, the support of
the driver by the ABS and ASC/
DTC chassis control systems is
increasingly reduced.
The RAIN, ROAD, and DYNAMIC
driving modes are designed for
riding with series tires recom-

mended by BMW Motorrad. The
DYNAMIC PRO driving mode as-
sumes tires and roads with very
good adhesion and one-up riding.
Therefore, please consider the
following when selecting the rid-
ing mode:
The sportier the setting, the
more demanding the require-
ments on the rider's riding
skills!
It the rider's responsibility
to choose the correct riding
mode. For example, the
DYNAMIC PRO riding mode is
absolutely unsuitable for wet
roads.
Changing setting
The process of changing over
the functions in the engine man-
agement system, ABS and ASC
or DTC is only possible under
certain conditions:
No drive torque at rear wheel
No brake pressure in the brake
system.
To retain this state, one of the
following conditions must be met:
The motorcycle is stopped with
the ignition switched on.
The throttle twistgrip is turned
back and the brake levers are
not actuated during riding.
